Health & Safety
Work at height is one of the most dangerous activities undertaken by contractors and therefore presents the most serious risks to safety. Window cleaning is recognised as being a dangerous trade and each year there are fatalities and serious injuries, sadly many of these could have been avoided.
As a business or responsible duty holder you will want to avoid accidents occurring on your premises. We can help ensure that all measures have been taken to address risks at your site and that only safe professional working practices will be implemented.
HSE Guidelines
The HSE has focused stringently on new laws for work at height and as of April 2005 the new regulations came in to effect. Essentially all contractors and those that contract others to work on their premises have a responsibility to show that all efforts have been made to avoid work at height where possible. You need to know that risks involved have been assessed and documented. Duty holders also need to ensure that those involved with work at height are trained and competent. We can help make sure that your company is doing just that, you can feel safe in the knowledge that you have contracted a company that will not cut corners where health and safety is concerned.
See the HSE or call Reflekt to find out how the laws affect you.
Safe Contractor
We are proud to hold the Nationally Recognised Accreditation Certificate ‘Safe Contractor’. This means that as a company we have invested time and resources to ensure that our health and safety working practices and procedures are of the best standard possible in the window cleaning industry. These high standards are reflected across the board from director to operative level.
Choosing a ‘Safe Contractor’ approved company helps you feel confident that you have contracted a company that places the health and safety of others and their staff as a main priority and are continuously proactive in maintaining these exceptional high standards.
Once we have assessed your building(s) we will provide a copy of a detailed site-specific risk assessment. Prior to starting works you will also be issued with a detailed method statement that will outline exactly how works will be carried out on your premises.
Safety on Construction sites (CSCS & CHAS)
Reducing risks on construction sites is a major priority for both the HSE and the CITB. From January 2007 it is law is that all workers on construction sites should have passed a mandatory health and safety test to ensure that they are aware of the hazards and risks on site and are competent to undergo safe working practices. We have extensive experience of working on construction sites.
We also hold the Contractors Health And Safety (CHAS) certification. This accreditation further highlights our commitment to Safe working practices on site and endorses the CSCS card scheme.
